JACK Quartet

The JACK Quartet, which played in Yellow Springs as part of the 2018-19 Chamber Music in Yellow Springs series, was awarded the 2019 Avery Fisher Career Grant on March 14, 2019. The prize money will be used to fund JACK’s Fulcrum Project, a new initiative that seeks to broaden their community of collaborators and increase institutional access for artists. In addition, The University of Washington has announced the JACK Quartet as its recipients of the 2019 ‘Creative Fellowship,’ as reported by the Violin Channel.

 

 

Aeolus Quartet

Winners of the 2011 CMYS Competition, the Aeolus Quartet, have been selected as one of ten finalists for the Banff International String Quartet Competition.

 

 

Attacca Quartet

The Attacca Quartet, finalists in the 2007 CMYS Competition, and performers in our 2018-2019 season, recently completed a marathon of all 68 Haydn quartets.

 

 

Rolston String Quartet

Since winning our Competition for Emerging Professional Ensembles on April 24, 2016, the Rolston String Quartet has continued to have success after success!  On September 4, they were named First Prize Laureate of the 12th Banff International String Quartet Competition (BISQC). According to the Banff Centre for Arts and Creativity in Banff, Alberta, Canada, “Following five rounds of live performances this week at Banff, the Rolston String Quartet demonstrated excellence across multiple genres.”

In May, they shared the Prix Durosoir at the 8th International Bordeaux String Quartet Competition and were also awarded third place in the strings division of the inaugural M-Prize by the University of Michigan’s School of Music, Theater & Dance. The Rolston has recently been selected as a winner of the Astral Artists 2016 National Auditions. We wish them well in their continued successes!
